Frequently Asked Questions
Results typically last between 1-3 years depending on the area treated, skin type, lifestyle, and technique used. Brows may fade faster than lips or eyeliner.
Two sessions are usually needed and are highly recommended. The first session is your initial appointment, followed by a perfecting touch-up appointment 8-12 weeks later.
The touch-up perfects shape and color, fills in any areas where your skin didn't retain the color pigment, and ensures the best long-term results. We offer two types of perfecting touch-up appointments.
Perfecting touch-up appointment 8-12 weeks following your initial session ensures color retention, shape adjustments, and perfection of initial treatment.
A color boost touch-up appointment 4-14 months following your initial session to refresh, adjust and/or maintain color vibrancy and shape.
A color boost appointment is recommended every 12–24 months to keep the pigment fresh and shape defined. While each person is unique, we recommend that you wait at least 8 months after your initial session before booking a color boost appointment.
Please note that under some circumstances, some clients may need a color boost touch-up sooner (I.e. corrections, neutralizations, etc).
We customize everything to your features and preferences. We map your shape according
to your bone structure, facial features such as hair, brow, eye color, and tones and use pigments
that complement your skin tone and undertone.
We do not recommend permanent makeup if you have used Accutane within the last 6 months, have a skin condition (eczema, psoriasis) on the treatment area, are undergoing chemotherapy, or if you have uncontrolled diabetes.
You will need doctor approval for any form of permanent makeup if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
When done properly by a trained professional, permanent makeup should not cause scar tissue. Luxury Beauty Clinic uses use a very precise technique and soft approach in order to protect the skin.
We will evaluate your skin type, preferences/goals, and lifestyle to recommend the most suitable technique—like powder brows vs. nano, or lipstick effect vs. lip blush or lip liner, or
lash liner vs. eyeliner.
We use high-quality topical numbing agents to keep you comfortable throughout the duration of your appointment. Numbing will start to wear off towards the end of your session and you might feel mild discomfort, but not pain.
Initial surface healing takes about 7–14 days. Full healing from within (when you’ll see the
true color) can take up to 6 weeks. Silver skin normally occurs between week 1-4, which
makes the treated area appear more faded with a cooler undertone.
We provide very detailed aftercare instructions along with all of the products you will need to ensure
proper healing.
Avoid sweating, direct sun exposure, and makeup/skin care on the area for 7–10 days. Keep
the area clean and apply healing ointment as instructed. Minimal peeling and flaking is
normal, but scabbing is not. Please refer to our aftercare instructions for more details.
Mild swelling, redness, and tenderness are common for a few days. Infection or allergic
reactions are rare when proper protocols are followed. Most rare reactions are due to an
allergy to the specific ointment and can be solved immediately.
You’ll see the healed result 4–6 weeks after the initial session—once the skin is fully healed
and the pigment settles. Exfoliating the treated area 4+ weeks post with sugar & coconut oil
will help the color come back to life.
Permanent makeup is considered is semi-permanent. It fades over time, but some pigment may remain in the skin for years.
Permanent makeup does not last forever due to the small molecules in the pigment
compared to body tattoo pigment along with the technique. Permanent makeup is only depositing
pigment into the epidermal layer (surface) compared to more permanent tattoos that are
much deeper. Permanent makeup allows the area to be adjust and customized over time as your features and preference changes. Touch-ups are required to maintain the color and shape over time.
We typically recommend a consultation first. If you had work done elsewhere, it’s not considered a touch-up—it may require a correction or full new treatment.
Yes, depending on the type and location of the scar. We’ll assess your skin first to ensure it’s
safe and will retain pigment.
Not always, but many cases can be improved with color correction or removal. A
consultation is required to determine the best course.
We take our time to ensure precision, comfort, and safety. The appointment includes
consultation, numbing, shaping, pigment matching, and the procedure itself.
Following pre-care (like avoiding caffeine, alcohol, fish oil and blood thinners) helps prevent
excess bleeding and pigment loss, which improves results. Before your permanent makeup appointment, you will be provided with a details list of pre-treatment instructions.
Many factors can result in less than desired outcomes so it's crucial that clients follow all pre-
treatment and post-treatment instructions. We've carefully tailored our pre-treatment instructions to
help educate our clients and prepare you for a better experience. Most of the instructions below are
designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during your service. Excessive bleeding during your
service can dilute and expel the pigment, leading to poor results.
